hopefully it might help someone on jwn.. these glasses allow most persons who are color blind to see true colors for the first time.
they also give a fascinating super color enhancement effect to people with normal color sight.

I'l be speaking or attempting to speak to my Watchtower zombie son today to see if he wants to come to a family gathering. When we meet, which is very rarely (twice in the last six years) we get on like a house on fire as we always have done...but to be known by the congregation as a witness who consorts with exJW family is a punishable no-no.

It has everything to do with the indulgent pleasure of embracing an all encompassing idea which promises to resolve every human frailty and inconvenience. It is a panacea, a short cut to gaining perpetual bliss. If you haven’t got much in this world and it doesn’t look like you are going anywhere then the JW paradise could be very seductive. With little to lose, you might think you have everything to gain.
It is the very act of grasping and holding on to this concept, believing it to be an absolute certainty, against the odds; which yields the emotional security JWs desire. It is the reason why even the slightest counter information will raise the hackles in the believer, not because it intellectually challenges the truthfulness of the JW dogma but because it challenges the fundamental emotional security of the individual. Truth and evidence are irrelevant to this state of mind. It is too late if the believer has already been ‘programmed’ by the WT propaganda by participating in the cult-affirming rituals of listening to the elders and obeying the rules with like-minded worshippers. The mind and heart have been radicalised.
The big question is how can JWs or for that matter any other religious person be de-radicalised?

Entertaining post Terry, the Mormons probably have instruction on how to interact naturally and sociably with others. A difference between the two belief systems it seems, is that the JW when at the doors is driven to oppose contradictory teachings and with the Mormons they want to gain the confidence of the other party.
It would however be of no use if the Witnesses were taught to be more courteous and diplomatic since their message is still paranoid...and of course the Mormon dream is by no means less delusional for that matter.
May the openness of the internet triumph and cultic belief atrophy.

the question was proposed as to whether this "process was accurate or was it flawed" seeing as many appointed ones were in fact not very righteous, or "spiritual".
indeed, the issue about "spirituality" was also raised, and the definition of what makes someone "spiritually mature" in the organisation's eyes was raised.

The JW org is now under the world's spotlight and they don't look good. -

The posts here are flooding in on the subject of the Watchtower’s toleration of sexual abuse being publicised in the world media. Sure they print and say its wrong like everyone else does but what their policies show above all is the lack of genuine, humane care and considerate welfare for its members. There must be so many voiceless JW victims and perhaps now they can speak out.
The thrust of the publishing religion is to make money by pretending to be a squeaky clean preaching business. It is happy to dispense what they imagine is divine wisdom from the Bible as if it can be the only recipe for resolving problems. Here lies its weakness and the downfall of the JW org. Both it and the Bible are out of date and recklessly misleading people.
By insisting on the Biblical “two witnesses” they invoke mockery for being foolish and literal when two witnesses are never normally present when sexual abuse takes place. However to deny the Biblical method goes against the grain of their teachings and if they stubbornly put their own literalist dogma ahead of compassion and the law they will invite censure and ridicule. The Bible is hereby shown to be very deficient in the matter of regulating sex offenders. And the Watchtower maintains an air of authority by not compromising.
Doesn’t this show how much of a bind the JW org is in? Will they compromise?

Actually I do wonder how there can be any fundamentalists in France as the country is so rich in prehistoric finds. Not just in the Pyrenees at Tautavel (from which place already comes a wonderful skeleton around 450,000 years old) but especially the region around Lez Eyzies in the Dordogne which is noted as the capital of prehistory. The museum there should convince anyone that the genus Homo has a very long pedigree reaching back into the remote past.
I reckon that the archaeology of French prehistory is a definitive damning of the Bible as literal truth. How can French witnesses live with themselves? I suppose in a bubble with blinkers and ear plugs.
